He's 13. last year, it was 10:30, which I thought was a little late, but he never had a problem getting up. This year I thought I'd move it back til ten and he had a fit, said I was treating him like a 6 year old. So parents of teens, what time is your teen's bedtime?

  1. Honestly,

You should make a bedtime of about 10:30.

But that is when he has to be in bed.

He is going to actually go to bed whenever he wants anyway. (Probably staying up for late night homework)

  2. It depends on what time he needs to get up in the morning.  As long as he is getting eight to ten hours of sleep at night, 10:30 should be fine.

  3. If you have to wake him, it's too late to go to sleep. If he's getting up, dressed and eating breakfast on time without your prodding, it should be fine.

Teens should be getting 8 hours of sleep a night minimum.

  4. keep it at 10:30 remember the time change will be coming soon, so he will really be going to bed at 9:30. My teens bedtime was 10:30 unless they had tons of homework.

  5. 14 and i go to bed at 10

  6. I'm 13 and I go to bed at about 10:30 and I fall asleep around 10:45. It's not bad because I am able to wake up just fine in the mornings =]

  7. i am 15 and i have to be in bed by 10 and asleep by 10:30.

For the 30 minutes i have a choice of reading or listening to music.

I wasn't aloud to watch TV after 9:30

  8. 10:30 is a bit early ..

why not 11:00 i mean it worked perfectly for me when i was 13 last year.. just set his alarm to like 7am and it should be good.

im 14 and i have to be asleep by 12am =]

  9. My kids are  13 (8th grade), 14 (Freshman) and 17 (Senior)...my rule of thumb is, if they are tired in the mornings, especially if they give me a hard time when it's time to get up then their Bedtime has to be earlier..we have found that on School Nights it is best for my son (14) to get to bed at 9:00 p.m. he has to get up at 6 a.m.for Football Practice before school. The girls go to bed between 9;30 and10 p.m. Remember kids that Don't get enough sleep can fall terribly behind in school, Teens need at least 9 hours of sleep a night

  10. Well I would keep it at 10:30 for now. I would also forewarn him that if he messes up in school, then it's an earlier bed time. Good Luck!

  11. 9pm

  12. 830 pm

  13. 9 pm

  14. setting it back never works, keep it the same at least.
