my 6 yr old daughter has been coming home from school since school has started everyday with a bad behavior grade...any advice? i had talked to her teacher and her teacher said there was no need to be alarmed or have a conference and thinks its just b/c of the new school year starting and it will go away in time...i'm worried though,my child is normally really good and barely received a bad grade.

  1. Same thing here, My oldest daughter has great manners and is normally really honest and a pleasure to have around, but when 1st grade started she got an attitude at the teacher and would begin talking back. Although she doesn't do this at home, the teacher said not to be alarmed it was normal and she was only one out of 3 girls in a classroom of 14 with all the rest boys.  I would just make sure that you speak to her on a normal basis about behaving well.  I would also suggest to offer her a daily reward after school if her daily report is good.  Like a certain favorite snack or activity after school or to watch a favorite television program all by herself.  Most kids 6 and over will want those allowances and don't want to loose them.  Or you could make a point system, for every day that your child gets a good report, they get a certain amount of points and throughout the week you add them up, at the end of the week, they get to chose a certain activity or travel to do on the weekend like going to the local Zoo or Museum or playing at the Park with her bike/skates.

    Hope this helps.

  2. I agree with your daughter's teacher.  My 9yo son STILL has behavior problems at the beginning of the year due to school restarting and getting back together with his friends.  He calms down in about two weeks.. thank goodness his teachers understand his corkiness, lol.

  3. Teacher is right
