Pick up Washburn and then start rolling over teams like they did at the beginning of the second half. They don't need another big hitter with their lineup. It is just a matter of time before the Yanks start unloading 8-9 runs a game.

Well the Yanks got Nady and Marte for 4 prospects. It seemed Marte didn't pan out for them recently, and Nady sucks...he's just having one good year. They'll regret it next year. So, I say the Angels got the better deal here.

Now that that has been said...

The Yanks aren't going to do much. They don't need to. They are winning games, and moving up in the standings. They will be smart to let the momentum keep rolling and not do anything which could disrupt an already working system. Sure they have had struggles, but they're still in it, so why change now?

Hopefully, they'll start hitting with RISP and not leave so many men on base.  If their hitters were working up to where they "should" be, the Yanks would be fine.

How can anyone say the deal for Marte and Nady hasn't worked out? They've been on the team for less than a week.

I'm not sure what the Yankees will do. I don't think Seattle is gonna budge easily in letting go of Washburn and I'm not sure what other pitcher is available. I don't think they have to do more on the hitting end. I think the offense will be fine with time. It sucks not having Posada available, but the rest of the offense can get hot and carry this team.

The pitching has been respectable. Mussina had a bad night on Monday, but that's bound to happen. Ponson is a bonus if he pitches well, Chamberlain has proven his worth and Pettitte is typically solid. Now they need Rasner to become consistent or hope that Wang can come back in September or that Phil Hughes is good when he gets back to the majors.

Anyone thinking the Yankees are out of it is fooling themselves or is a hater. I'm being honest.

they are in separate divisions so there really isnt a counter move to be made

and actually, you can thin kof the Angels acquisition of Teixeira as their counter to the Yanks stealing Nady and Marte

if there is a team that needs to counter its the Red Sox..that pitching staff needs work and they have a big  bargaining tool in Manny
