Now that the Bucs have unloaded, Nady, Bay, Marte and now Bautista, will they continue to rebuild by trading away their highest priced (and most known) player in SS Jack Wilson? Or will he be the one they build around?

  1. it's a shame that everytime the Pirates get a good nucleus of young players they clean house. According to me, they have been"rebuilding" for 30 years. It's a miracle they can draw any fans. Pittsburgh fans should boycott that franchise until they make an effort to actually WIN games. They were a powerhouse in the 70's.           Even being from New England I loved the Pirates. Sanguillen,Stargell,Hebner,Parker,Stenne...

SOME OF THE GREATEST TEAMS EVER...

  2. The Pirate's have had a lot of young talent over the past seasons. Unfortunately, like a lot of other francises, they don't have enough money to support them. They can't hold up their contracts, and when they're over, the player would go to a different team for a better contract deal, or the Pirates would just trade them away from the lack of money. It's amazing that they even have fans, and even more amazing- they even have some wins too.

  3. It wouldn't surprise me if the Pirates traded the racing pierogies.

  4. Wilson is certainly a better than average shortstop, but has a big contract that may be hard for the Pirates to dump.

I would be surprised if Wilson would clear waivers, maybe he already has. A team like the Dodgers would love to have him, but I think any trade involving Wilson will happen in the off-season.

  5. Wow...Probably.  Why not just get rid of the whole team while they're at it?

Last time I checked, most of those players ARE young and talented, and probably the future of baseball.  How much more "re-building" can you need?

  6. Probably

  7. neither. They'll keep Wilson, but he won't be their franchise player. Wilson is above average, so they would want a good haul for him, but he is NOT a franchise player.
