  1. no don't cut back.  consumer spending is 70% of the economy.  when you stop spending, the economy gets worse.

  2. Improveing where do u live!!!   i drive a V8 daily and gas around these parts is a bit less than $5.00 gallon cheapest i saw today was 4.15 gallon.

I agree with cuting back on non essentials and canceling them credit cards thats just asking for debt

  3. Your premise that the economy is improving is false.. however, yes..we should all drive less if possible.. live closer to the bone and hopefully there'll be a world left for our grand kids.

  4. Yes.  We need to work to reduce the price of oil..and cut back on our driving.  That will help reduce some pressures...and it will help cut oil prices.  Hmm is our economy improving?  There are good signs..but I don't see any stuff that points to it improving.  And people need to stop blaming the war in Iraq as the main cause for economic problems.  It is a cause, but not nearly as big as other problems (mortgages, gas prices which are caused by high demand and some restricted supply, and inflation).  Iraq is a more long term problem and there are bigger economic problems.  As for Iraq we need to stay there to secure the area or else it will fall to terrorists and different countries- nations in the area.

  5. the economy is improving ?

    really ?

it sure as h**l doesnt seem like it .

  6. What we need to do is get out of this f*cking war. We have no reason to be there.

  7. I would say drive less and cut back non essentials would be a good ideal, since we are not out of a bad economy yet.

take the money and invest it (or at least save it in a bank)

or take the money and save up for a more fuel efficient car.

  8. The economy was not improving, last I heard.

  9. If we continue to drive less, another downturn in the economy may hurt us a little less. I agree though, this war hurts us more than it helps. Iraq needs to be on their own now. Our help can still be offered, but far as constantly being there....no.  No the economy is not better. We need a president that don't answer questions like: I,uhhh ummm.. don't know,. I, uhhh, ummmmmm, am working on that uhhhhh, ummmm issue. I exaggerated a bit, but he does sound like that and he looks dumb.

  10. Do what you can afford. I drive a hummer because I'm not poor and hate the environment. SORRY EARTH!

  11. who says the economy is improving. its on a downward path, and these arent quarterly trends these last for years. i've heard nothing but that the economy is steadily going downward and will for quite some time

  12. yes

  13. The economy is improving?  I haven't noticed.  I've never gotten "non essentials"  I have 8 pets to raise, and a husband.  I cannot afford even on a high dime, anything that I want.

  14. We should absolutely drive less! The reason for this is not just because the gas prices went down a little, but we need to learn how to conserve...PERIOD!

I don't understand why you think the ecomomy is improving, because it's really not. More businesses are laying off people, unemployment claims have risen, food prices continue to increase.

We need to learn to tighten our belts a little more and get used to having to cut back. It will be in our best interest, trust me.

  15. yes cut back on everything you can money, and the earth are great things to save!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. huh? the economy is improving??/ where do u live?!

  17. God help us.Don´t you understand that any improvement in the economy will only give a temporary respite to the energy crisis?

  18. The economy isn't improving!

It's the worst it's been in years.

I don't know where you got that info, but it is wrong.

  19. wtf? what planet are you on??? the economy is so not improving!

  20. umm......the economy is getting worse.anywayz, people are driving less because they care about the enviorment.

  21. the econmy is not improving drive less

    korkie

  22. yes....by driving ur poluting the planet and using up natural recources

  23. i think we should still cut back.

even if it is getting better, there is nothing stopping it from getting worse again if people go back to their old ways.

  24. we should drive less because driving to much is destroying the planet.
