There was NO mention about his mother's 2nd husband -- was it because he was Asian? muslim? they lived outside the USA in Asia? why forget/exclude this aspect -- in the "understood different cultures".. although I see how it didn't jive with the Pure Americana angles (of mentioning Kansas grandparents, over their living & raising him actually in Hawaii? ...I had a BIG problem with veracity -- surprising in a man that's supposed to be something new?

  1. There was nothing that I did not like about that speech. It was an absolutely gorgeous presentation. I watch that speech everyday and I just can't fathom the amount of charisma he has. He was total grace under pressure, as only Obama can do it. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to witness that moment.

    Obama/Biden 08

  2. Everything. It was same old canned rhetoric,no substance...

  3. He didn't say anything new... Given that, I guess you can assume there was no substance.. Just more "I like change", "we have hope", "yes we can", "the other guys are more of the same", blah blah blah, "I'm against crying babies and aids"...

After choosing biden, I wonder why they don't just stop with the whole we are your savior bull c**p and just stand there and say, "we are democrats"

  4. Obama is a great speech maker.  But he's an empty suit.  A lot of talk and he said nothing.  But the glossy eyed robots out there loved every minute of it and still haven't learned a thing.

  5. Everything!  Empty rhetoric!

  6. I wish it was a little more powerful like both of the Clintons' were.

  7. Obama can deliver a speech as well as anyone but I would have liked to hear a little more detail about how he plans to accomplish everything he is promising.

  8. It's okay,

    I tivod it.

I listened to it on the radio and watched it twice.

    HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL PROMISES!!!!!!

    unrealistic and very, very costly

  9. that he gave it is enough for me

  10. I didn't like anything about it.  It was all rhetoric, empty words and fakery.

  11. I'm sure McCain's speech will be a blast....

    I can hardly stay awake....

  12. I am Republican and I like a number of things he said - when you haven't been in office yet and haven't done anything you can chip away at the incumbent and it's safe because you have no record yet.

Obama stood up there and spouted many ideas we like (some I don't like too) but it's all fluff because in the real world how is he going to do it? Many big things he talks about won't happen because just because he talks about them.

This is the Obama fallacy - voters buying his rhetoric that won't and can't play out - it is being naive. And he has loads of rhetoric, he would end up being a poor President because he is in a worldview that is less-than-real.
