answer should not come as a surprise. When E.U citizens are treated with the same contempt and arrogance as the Zimbabwe electorate by their own politicians there surely can only be one answer...."NO"?

  1. I think that the powers that be in Europe have exposed themselves for what they are and we should sit up and take notice.

This contempt for democracy cannot be allowed to continue.  The only difference between this lot and Mugabe is that they are not sending their heavies out to kill and imprison (not yet anyway).

  2. And not just NO; h**l NO.

  3. Trouble is that the politicians are already looking for ways to ignore it. It will always be a mystery to me how they can't see the writing on the wall. Unless we get real democratic structures for Europe there is no hope that the citizens will like it any better.

Sometimes I think, though, that politicians in many countries mask unpopular decisions by telling the people they've been forced by Europe, even if it's totally untrue. People are just too gullible and appeals to their national pride usually work, Murdoch's press in the UK being an example.

  4. Correct answer!!

  5. Once again we see the true persona of Gordon Brown.

He keeps telling us he is ready to listen, but now the Irish vote is a no vote, he has said he will dis-regard it and still push  for the      constitution. Surely this is the attitude of a Dictator, and as we are supposedly to be a democracy Gordon Brown should be forced to hold an election now.

  6. It seems to me it doesn't matter what the outcome of the vote was. EU politicians will eventually get the result they want with more words and under a new guise!

  7. Good for Ireland. Someone had to stand up to the EU dictatorship. Leave it to the Irish to have the balls.

  8. I am Irish and the result is the correct one.We have struggled for centuries for our own rights and Brussels cannot come along and dictate to us.
