Okay so I was thrilled to have my 4 little girl rats. I went to the pet store today to find them a hammock because I couldn't find one at walmart and I was going to see if they had an additional corner shelf type thing that I could add to my cage.

So I asked the lady there cause I didn't see any and I told her it was for my rats. So then I am looking around and she says so you have rats shes like do you want anymore and I was like well um....no.

And she is like a guy brought some pretty little rats in here (a couple of weeks ago!) and I just don't want them to go as snake food so she is like well let me go get them.

So she comes out with a little plastic transport type thing (def. where they live) and there are 2 little males in there. She said one of them doesn't have a foot shes like you can have them because I just don't want them to go as snake food. She didn't even know how old they were.

Reluctantly I took them because I mean they clearly weren't getting any exposure or

  1. Try to pet them.  If they start bite you get your fork out and stab them! (JUST KIDDING) Pick them up so they will get used to being on your hand.  Keep them away from the girl rats or else you will have millions of babies

  2. my oldest mouse i just got from my cousin thats 7 monmths i like stick my hand in the cage, and he runs to me and bites me and runs bakc in the house thing... or did, now i have him and my 8 week old girl with him... they mated like a week ago... but anyways when i had him and her with the other two mice he would always attack my 7 week old boy mouse. which is his son... but never together until like 4 days ago. but hes a mean little Fvcker so im not sure... but try putting him on ur hand not sticking ur hand in front of him... i cant hold mine at all or he bites me...the only reason i dont git rid of him is because hes a satin fancy and looks awesome!

  3. Just start training them not to bite. Don't take the chance of thinking they will grow out of it. Good luck, and even though you didn't really want them, i think it's great you took them :)
