  1. Usain Bolt

  2. I think that Bolt still has a few races to win before he outshines Michael Phelps, but comparing them is like apples and oranges, it just doesn't compute.

  3. his name is Usain...

both are stars in my book.

  4. Phelps.

  5. Usain Bolt won't be able to get as many golds as Phelps because he isn't entered in as many events.

He was very impressive on the 100m but his disrespectful display that came toward the end of that run was a disgrace.

Phelps has remained polite and respectful of the spirit of the Olympics- Bolt has not.

That alone makes Phelps the true olympic star in my opinion but there are plenty of people in the olympics that have made a lot of sacrifices and carry the olympic spirit wonderfully that aren't gold medal winners and I think they're all stars- Dara Torres comes to mind.

  6. They're both phenomenal athletes... but I don't think it is fair to judge this based on how many medals they have each won - since Phelps was entered into more events... and even though 8 golds is an unthinkable feat... it is unfair to say he was the "star" of this Olympics because I'm sure if you put Bolt in 8 medal races - he'd win 8 gold medals too. Also, as many have pointed out, this is like judging apples and oranges...

but if I were to choose... I'd say Usain Bolt simply because he almost effortlessly breezes by the competition... and you've got to love his attitude.

  7. Although Micheal Phelps won 8 medals, I would say Usain Bolt is a better athlete. Micheal Phelps set 7 world records in the water but you may not know that all athletes set alot of country, olympic, and world records in the pool its because they can swim faster in that pool due to various aspects of the pool (they did a segment on cbc). Usain may have only won 2 medals but he also set 2 world records in both 100m & 200m, something that's never been done before and the track didn't make him swim faster. So i think Usain is def a better star.

  8. phelps

  9. Both great and respectable (assuming neither drugged).  But if I'm completely honest, I felt much more excited watching Bolt perform.

  10. Obviously Bolt- Phelps is yesterday's man now that a real star has emerged.

  11. They both are in their own respective sports.  Phelps is known for breaking Spitz's record, which is a feat in of itself.  Usain Bolt (not Hussein, check your info) is blowing away literally everyone in the field.  So respectively, they are both stars.

  12. 8 GOLDS TO WHAT?WHAT A MORON.DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE POSTING A QUESTION

  13. Phelps for us.  Bolt for Jamaica.

  14. I don't know why after some day everyone forget that Michael Phelps did something that is incredible. I think that Usain Bolt is a  great champion but he should be more humble.

  15. Since the Olympics were meant to show the abilities of individuals in their respective fields of expertise ( and not the nations' abilities to accumulate medals) they are both stars in their own right. One is the greatest swimmer ever to participate in the Olympics. The other is a sensational sprinter who we hope will be around for years to come.

  16. michael phelps

  17. BOLT!!!!

  18. phelps, he won 8 gold medals and broke 7 world recrods...usain has only won the 100 so far and only broken one world record

  19. Phelps

he's done what no one has done before and I don't think people will be able to break his record for a long time.

    but they're both amazing

  20. Phelps who??

  21. BOLT!

  22. Definitely Bolt ... props to Phelps for an amazing accomplishment, but Bolt definitely is the star of the games.
