  1. Bus services: Ulsterbus (for Northern Ireland) and Bus Eireann (Republic state service). You can also get the train from Belfast to Dublin Connolly Station, and there's a direction connection with the Luas (tram) between Connolly station and Heuston Station, which serves Cork, Limerick, Galway, Tralee, Waterford and Kilkenny. The website for the train in the Republic is www.irishrail.ie.

  2. Try here ...   http://www.hini.org.uk/news/newsdetails.... Youth hostling association of N.Ireland

  3. yeah transport from north to south is fine. You have an option of train.. the train service in ireland is iarnrod eireann. Their website is http://www.irishrail.ie/

There's also the bus. Check out www.buseireann.ie and http://www.jjkavanagh.ie/  ...these arent tour buses however, they run between towns and cities.

You could rent a car too, but the country roads in ireland are pretty poor. Theyre small, so you might prefer not to drive on them.

Have a look at www.discoverireland.ie for more info on accomodations and places to see. Plenty of inexpensive b&bs around ireland if you dont fancy hostels. I havent stayed in hostels from ireland so i cant really tell you how they are. But www.hostelworld.com has plenty of ratings from previuos guests. If im ever looking for a hostel in a particular place i always use that so i can avoid the bad ones.

    Have fun. :)

Tralee is nice enough town. Its in Kerry which is one of the nicest counties in Ireland. You could take her to Dingle...its not far from tralee..maybe an hour and a bit drive???, im not sure cos i havent driven it. But there's a dolphin who resides in the bay at dingle, so you can take a boat out to see him, or even go swimming with him. His name is Fungi...maybe she'd like that. If you dont see him, you get your money back too so its a good deal.

In Killarney (again not too far from Tralee) there;s great scenery, beautiful lakes. There's horse/pony-driven carts so you could maybe take her for a trip on one of those - they take you around to see the scenery cos it can be a bit of a walk to see it all.

Im sure there is transport between tralee, dingle and killarney. My parents stayed in killarney and got a tour bus to dingle...im not sure of the names tho sorry.
