  1. you would propalby get radiation sickness and most likely die  from that but i dont think the actual exsplosion would kill you

  2. well depending on the size of the nuke you will either be nailed by the flying debris or burned in the heat blast. If you see it you will be blinded permanently. As for survival in the long term sorry old boy but the out look is rather bleak. Radiation sickness would eventually get to you through dust or water.

  3. GET A GRIP! Listen to some Floyd, knock back a few cold ones and mellow out dude! You could always dig a fall-out shelter in the back yard or a bunker in the basement but why bother...?

  4. unless u can see super far away ur not gona see any thing 70 miles away. but u will die from radiation digging a hole in the ground wont help either. bunkers are hundreds of feet below ground with steel around it and what not. in this century u wont have to worry about any nuclear bomb tho

  5. You would need almost 100 megaton bomb to have noticeable pressure blast effects.   An average warhead is about 200-300 kilotons.  Assume 250KT.

If you're actually outside, unshielded, and looking in the direction of London, you would possibly be temporarily blinded (similar to looking at a bright flashlight) and feel mild discomfort on any exposed skin.

There would be little danger from higher energy radiation.

Radioactive fallout may be a concern depending on wind direction and weather conditions.

Your main source of threat will be from the secondary effects more than the bomb itself.  Almost everything within 30km of London will be on fire and spreading.   The EMP will knock out almost all electronics and anything they control... much will not come back being permanently fried.   You know... mayhem.

Have a reliable stock of food and water.   Make provisions for personal defense.  Stay indoors.

  6. You would notice the very bright light on the horizon.

You would not be burned, blasted off your feat, or die from radiation sickness.

70 miles is a safe distance, depending on the prevailing winds and the weather following the blast. Also, if there were a nuke blast in London, that would mean that there was a very intense and extensive war on. One nuclear detonation would be the least of your worries.
