Sandy Bay is the most known one for most South Africans. I read that Sandy Bay was one of the world’s first legal nudist beaches.  Then you can strip down on the Port Alfred beach situated below the Great Fish Point Lighthouse (approximately 24 km out of town) and you can tan au natural at the lagoon in Umhlanga. There talks about one in Port Elizabeth as well but not sure if that one ever happened.

I have never been to one and don't think I ever will, lol

But I have heard that Sandy Bay is a good one to go to. Whether that is true or not I don't know.

That's something I've noticed, too, and it isn't just in SA; the moment there's a spot where you might strip off comfortably, it fills up in seconds with g**s on the pull and men trying to get an eyeful of the only woman left on the beach. Result - if I wanted to go to a nudist beach, I don't think I would. The banks of the Seine in Paris (where I live) are just like that. Packed with g**s wearing very peculiar gear if they wear anything at all, and an atmosphere that I for one do not feel at all comfortable in. Backs to the wall, and leave quickly!

The only place I've actually been on the beach was in Spain, where it isn't obligatory to strip off, and only about 50% of the people were actually naked. That was quite "family", in fact - no g**s, no ogling, nothing you wouldn't find on any normal beach. That was OK! But I gather it's rare.

Yes there is Sandy Bay and definately one in Port Elizabeth off Marine Drive out Cape Receife way near a surfing spot called 'Secrets'.

I've never tried one before, and now i can't because would probably scare everybody, but the only one i know about is Sandy Bay in Cape Town

Llandudno.

Haven't been to a nudist beach myself, but I have heard so much about Llandudno. It's quite secluded and apparently you have to walk down a path to get there. Very private.

I was with my hubby on an installation job once at a house right next to the nudist beach and you won't believe the number of people that go there. One guy was actually disappointed that there was so many men and almost no women. lol.

Sandy Bay used to be great until it became a g*y pickup spot - beaches should not be used for that type of thing.
