Question:

Nuheart...has anyone used it?

I love my dog and want her to be protected against parasites, but the cost of Frontline Plus along with the Heartguard Plus is becoming a bit too much for us. I stumbled upon Nuheart, a generic for Heartguard. Supposedly it has the same amount of the active ingredient in Heartguard. Has anyone ever tried it? It's considerably cheaper and I would just like to know if anyone has experience with this product and its effectiveness at preventing heartworm. THANKS!

  1. I've never heard of it.  Run it by your vet.  They can usually give a product opinion with a phone call.

  2. how will you be able to afford vaccines and other healthcare your dog needs? it's not a big deal right now but it could be. so you might want to look into affordable plans to treat your dog.

i wouldn't trust any old generic brand. these are chemicals we're putting on our dog..and fleas/ticks are becoming immune to them.

  3. I am from the US and never heard of it, but apparently it is very popular in Australia.  If your vet recommends it, it should be OK.
