In a few weeks I'm going to be having about quarter of my toenail off. Tell me do they do anything to numb the pain and if they do, would you even feel a tiny bit of pain. Also you dont have to look at your toe while they are doing it do you?

  1. When they do the operation, you are going to be feeling nothing.

But from the feelings i'm getting from you .... your a chicken and

you have a right to be , lots of us are when having a procedure. So

don't feel all concerned about it, just tell them straight , i don't like

pain , make sure you give me lots of whatever to stop the pain

when i come out of the operation, because a few hours later is

when you will feel it, and will need to have good pain medication.

So don't be shy, speek your mind and ask for medication when

    required.   All the best.

  2. they will numb your toe with about 3-5cc of anesthetic (4 injections around the base of the toe) That should be the only painful part of the procedure.

The numbness will go away in about 2-4 hours and you can manage the pain with soaks, elevation, ice and/or an NSAID

    hope this helps

    Sam
