Number Theory likely to thrive in Betfred Ebor (Heritage Handicap)
After winning three big races during the last three months at Haydock stadium, the John Holt trained bay gelding, Number Theory, is now keen to register his first success at York racecourse where he will run in the Betfred Ebor (Heritage Handicap) on Saturday,
August 25.
Some people believe that the four-year-old veteran horse is just born for Haydock, but this perception will prove to be wrong today. Despite the fact that Number Theory’s past record on good grounds had not be pleasant, most of the punters are sure that
he will be able to do well over 1 mile and 6 furlongs while running alongside 19 strong rivals. The victory will earn the gelding £140,063.
The talented son of Halling out of Numanthia marvellously finished first against a dozen of competitors in the Taylormade Betting Handicap on May 24. He was the 9-2 hot favourite candidate.
Being the best-priced runner, he accomplished a tremendous triumph emphatically in the Trust Inns Publicans Handicap on June 13. Much to the dismay of the bookmakers, who underrated Number Theory for the Bet365 Old Newton Cup (Heritage Handicap), the gelding
stood first again by a neck’s margin.
This fabulous hat-trick has perhaps made the Mohan Fonseka owned horse an invincible runner for the time being. Thus, it is assumed that he will be able to achieve fourth straight success while running under Russ Kennemore who has been his regular rider
for the last four starts.
Camborne looks to be another strong candidate on the race card. The John Gosden trained bay gelding is on the verge of a hat-trick as he elegantly bagged a couple of tremendous triumphs during June 2012.
First, he won the Kat Communications Knowledge About Telecoms Handicap at Doncaster and then claimed the ace title of the Duke of Edinburgh Handicap in the Royal Ascot festival.
Overall, he has won 4 of his total 6 starts. This is awesome indeed. Thus, Camborne can give enough tough time to Number Theory.
In this situation, a fierce battle is expected between these two mighty geldings. The success will ultimately go to Number Theory. Good luck to all the contestants.
