I have a question about the number of pages other sites have in their buffers. All the examples I've seen from CA show 100 to 300 pages in a buffer for a given area or set of areas. We have used these numbers with reasonable success especially on our old machine. We know have a new machine were there is a lot more memory available, and we are wondering if increasing these buffer sizes would improve some of our problem areas in regards to forced writes. So I guess my question is two parts. What are some extreme buffers sizes that other sites have? What are the average number of pages people are using? Finally are there any gotcha's to watch out for when increasing buffer sizes? Thanks in advance for any advice or information people can provide.Philip J.
