I'm 19 and I currently have 2 credit cards. I received a very good offer from AMEX today and am considering getting the 3rd. I'm very good with my 2 now, and never hold balances on them. I was just wondering if I should get the AMEX or wait for a while?

  1. 3 is the maximum for anyone.  Any more makes you look like you are "credit happy".  To actually increase your scores, leave like $10.00 on the balance each month.  This shows that they are ACTIVE with a very low ratio of credit to credit line.  Good luck!

  2. Getting a 3rd cardcould affect your credit depending on your income. It also depends on how much credit is available to you. But ask your self this, do you really need it? Your building enough of a credit history (and a good one at that) with the cards you have now, there doesnt seem to be a real need for the 3rd.

Eventhough Amex cards are very pimp. (but thats just my opinion)

  3. Amex is a great card. The blue card is the best for 0% for 15 months. You can apply for it at  http://www.gozeropercent.com  transfer your balances on to that card. You can apply on line an know if you are approved rigtht away at  http://www.gozeropercent.com

  4. How long has it been since you've had credit last?

There should be some time in between, as acquiring too much credit shows to the credit that you are "seeking" credit.

That is always seen negatively in the credit world.

I suggest not to take it, build your credit history. Solidify it!
