Does anyone know the website where you type in someones licence plate and it comes up with their details for free not the one where you type in and get a customised number plate such as NX51 POO

  1. maybe you have to ask in a police department or ask a police...(that's what I can see on the movies...:) )

  2. There is no such website. If you have an official reason for wanting to know this type of information the DVLA will allow you access to their records.

  3. As far as i know this service is exclusive to government departments, for eg  police etc

  4. not unless your a cop....

i can sullpy a web address to find out if its insured, thats about it...no personal details are available for joe public to look at...

  5. No such place unless you work for DVLA

  6. You can check the DVLA website to see if a vehicle is taxed/SORNd but it won't give you the owners details as that would violate the Data Protection Act.

  7. http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk - tells you if a vehicle is taxed along with other details such as engine size, colour, date of first registration, fuel type and CO2 emissions

http://www.askmid.com - check if a vehicle is insured

http://www.motinfo.gov.uk - check if a vehicle has an MOT (you need the logbook for this one)

The only way to find out who a vehicle is registered to is to contact the DVLA, you will need to give a very good reason for needing the information.
