Numbing the mouth???

i have a quick question...since im getting a cavity removed soon, i've been wondering...what does your mouth feel like when it's numb? i've never gotten a shot on the inside of my cheek, so i wouldnt really know much

That's just it, you don't feel anything.  Your nerves in the area of the injection will fall asleep and not send hot, cold, pain or touch sensations to your brain.  When you feel your cheek with your fingers, it will feel like you're touching someone else's cheek because you don't feel your fingers touching it.

    Add-on:  Suffocating???  Huh.  I've been around dentists and have a problem with them, along with very sensitive teeth and genetically bad teeth to boot.  Of all the numbing, all the sedations, all the work I went through (and all of the people I know who went through dental work), I have never heard of the sensation of suffocation.  That's weird....
