Numbness in fingers, hand, and arm.

I am 23 years old so I dont think it is a heart attack or stroke. A couple of days ago my arm was sort of numb and it went down into my fingers a little bit. Now today my thumb and my pointer finger are literally twitching! It feels so weird! What could it be?

  1. It could be a sign of many things. You should see a Dr. It could be as slight as a pinched nerve or it could be MS, a stroke or many other things.

  2. sounds like a problem with your radial nerve. have you banged your elbow latly?

  3. IT DEFINITELY SOUNDS LIKE A PINCHED NERVE. YOU CAN HAVE A PINCHED NERVE IN YOU NECK AND IT CAN TRAVEL DOWN YOUR ARM AND INTO YOUR FINGERS. IT USUALLY DEPENDS ON WHICH NERVE IS PINCHED TO DETERMINE WHAT FINGERS ARE AFFECTED.THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM IS INCREDIBLE AND AMAZING. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL SURGERIES FOR A SPINAL CORD INJURY DUE TO A BROKEN NECK. I ALSO HAVE DEGENERATIVE DISC DISEASE AND HAVE HAD SURGERY ON MY ARM FOR AN ENTRAPPED ULNAR NERVE ALONG WITH A PINCHED CARPAL TUNNEL.  NOT TO SCARE YOU BUT I'VE HAD AT LEAST 16 SURGERIES. SO BASICALLY WAIT A FEW DAYS UNLESS IT GETS WORSE AND YOU'LL NEED TO GET THIS CHECKED OUT BEFORE IT PROGRESSES.    THIS IS THE WORST CASE CENERIO. GOOD LUCK HANG IN THERE.

  4. Sometimes if you do repetitive things such as typing at the keyboard a lot or knitting or other things like this - your back can go out somewhere in the region between your shoulder blades - if you feel that you could benefit from a visit to a chiropractor then I do feel that there is a good chance it can help.

I have this problem at times and my chiropractor is a great help

  5. I think it still will be better for you to check your heart even if you are only 23.

  6. If you have a repetitive job you may have carpal tunnel syndrome. The nerves of the hand are inflamed and are being pinched where they run through the wrist.
