read in a brochure about how Estrogen signals the endometrium to thicken during each menstrual cycle and Progesterone causes the blood vessels in the endometrium to swelll and causes other changes to occur to prepare for a possible pregnancy. This may be a ridiculous question but I am wondering if I could maybe buy some of these things to help out a bit.,or are these things that my body produces naturally??..but if it's possible to purchase, WHERE CAN I GET THEM? AND WHERE CAN I FIND "False Unicorn Root" I've heard that it can give a bit of a push on making ttc a bit easier...??? Is that true?? Another thing...I'm currently taking Prenatal Vitamins & Folic Acid & Vitex everyday... Is that good to do while ttc?

Also I know that there's many different kinds of Estrogen sold in drug stores so which one would be the best for ttc?

We've been ttc for a very long time now... & trust me intercourse isn't the problem. but thanks for the advice

PS: NO RUDE OR SMART COMMENTS PLEASE I DEFINITELY COULD GO WITHOUT THEM!!! THANKS 2 ALL THOSE WHO CARE ENOUGH 2 TAKE THE TIME & ANSWER WITH KINDNESS! =) BABY DUST 2 YALL!

  1. yea it sucks but i would really say just to wait.. and also, i have gotten a postive from the dollor store test, they actually test for over 25... so if you have a buck and just want to test again, it wont break your bank.. but other wise its going to be a long two days to get the correct results.. good luck and baby dust!!!

  2. This doesn't exactly answer your question, but I'm wondering: have you done any fertility testing? Progesterone is tested on Day 21 of your cycle, and estrogen around Day 3 (I think--I'm sure about progesterone). I know that there are progesterone suppositories out there, and that women with low levels can get injections, if needed.

So you might want to start with a doctor's visit and get some preliminary bloodwork done. If you can afford it and/or your insurance covers it, acupuncture can help regulate ovulation and increase fertility (it's also relaxing). I also wonder if you are charting your temperatures, which can teach you a lot about your body and help you figure out when you're ovulating (and if your progesterone is low, your temps will be, too). Take some deep breaths and hang in there.

--Some say every day is too much and can weaken the sperm; a lot of people recommend every other day. When I'm TTC we aim for every 36 hours.

  3. Don't worry about the false unicorn root. Just stick with the prenatals, folic acid, and vitex (2 capsules, 2 times a day). Back of the s*x to only every other day, and only around ovulation time....you don't want this to feel like a chore. Also what worked for me in the end was maya abdominal massage(MAM). I got pregnant in one cycle using it. So impressed, I became a practitioner myself to help others get pregnant as well. How long have you been ttc? Have you been to see your doc regarding labs to make sure your hormone levels are all OK? Also, get yourself a copy of "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and start tracking your cycles. Good Luck!

  4. One  ...you are  stressing tooo much... I presume you want to get prenant and are willing to try anything to help  you.. if so the best thing you can do is to STOP stressing.. I k now easier said than done.. but you gotta try.... also I was given progestron  capsules  by my doc when I reported my pregnancy ( It was my secondI misscarried the first time) they were meant to ( if I understood correctly) help me retain my  pregnancy. I was prescribed for the first 12 weeks.. but PLEASE ONLY  take these meds if you are prescribed by a doc  .. and not an advice of ppl on teh net or other wise erading up on the net....  you have NO IDEA on how they will effect you... you dont want to do permernant damage.. these are powerful hormonal drugs... why dont you try reading up on excercies or  kinds of foods that will help you ... it will give you a feeling of actually doing something ... and   even if it does no good .. it will do no damage.. PLEase DO NOT  take meds like this.. And good luck.. god willing you will have good news soon.

  5. You say that intercourse is not the problem. Are you having s*x more frequently than every other day? If so, that could be part of the problem.

The body produces estrogen. If you are looking to maximize chances then have him cut out the smoking, take a man's vitamin and both eat healthy. Also check into a fertility monitor to get an accurate read on when you are actually ovulating.

  6. Vitex is a good one to take. Have you looked into Dong Quai? I'm still not too familiar with Vitex vs. Dong Quai and if you should take them at the same time, but from what I have read, one helps regulate the progesterone and the other helps regulate the estrogen. (Sorry I'm still learning about them).

Another thing to try is Evening Primrose Oil. It helps create thicker/more cervical mucus to help keep the sperm alive when TTC.

    Best luck!
