Too may of you close the question before one has time to write a truthful answer. It takes time to get info, it makes one not want to answer. Others have this problem??

  1. NOt sure why some do that, I try and extend the question right off the bat.  Sometimes thngs come up and if you don't do it off the bat the questions are set to expire in a few days.

Concerning the quesiton, I feel the more the merrier.  like that 1868 5 kopek.  Hard to run down, but finally found it.  I have a 53, 5 cent from Canada and think it's one of the rare ones, but finding the pix is hard.  think it's far leaf.  Anyway you do a great job and thanks. Still have to figure out the DD Norse American Thin Token, may have ben due to a loose planchet  Take care..

  2. no

  3. I'm new to answering here, but I appreciate all the research you do.  I don't scour my coins/bills, but I do have a little knowledge (dad taught me).  When I see you've answered I read it, try to remember what you wrote, so that I have that knowledge now.

Please keep answering, you're very knowledgeable.

    Thank you!!!!

  4. Yes, it's very frustrating and happens more often than I like.  Other times, after I've assembled the info to answer a coin question, I find that YOU've beaten me to it. . . and usually, with a better answer!  All I can do then is give you a "thumbs-up."  I guess it's all just part of the challenge, huh?  Keep up the good work.

  5. No, as far as I am concern, I prepare to have so many answers specially if the questions dealt on numismatic, I needed to be educated about it so why close the subject . You have an interesting answer to my question before but it just happen that the one I choose gives me more insight.. Thanks for the info.

  6. Hi Taiping,

I appreciate all of the great numismatic answers you provide here on Yahoo! Answers.  I often have given them "Thumbs' Up" ratings, and am one of your fans.

I'm one of the other folks who also helps out in this category, and have run into many different types of issues:

      * Questions that are closed early, without leaving time for multiple responses, like the one that we both recently came across regarding .999 fine silver casino tokens.

      * Questions that are never voted on, by the person asking the question or even by other members.

      * Questions where the Best Answer chosen is (in my view) a somewhat quick and trivial one, and there appear to be better answers from which to choose.

All of this is part and parcel, perhaps, of a social site like Yahoo! Answers.  Still, I've found that on the whole, good answers bubble up to the top more frequently than not, even with annoying issues like these.

By the way, there appears to be a "Yahoo Products -> Yahoo Answers" category especially suited for questions like this:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/dir/;_ylt=AtPRh...

While it's cluttered with some non-germane questions, this category appears to be the place one can ask the community about issues pertaining to the site.

    Best wishes!
