Nur Insafi earns one-point to draw match 3-3 against UniKL – Hockey Update
After a daunting fight between Nur Insafi and University Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), the game ended in a 3-all draw that took place at National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Malaysia. Though the team Nur Insafi failed to win the match, they at least earned the
point which was required for confirming their spot in the knock-out stage.
Amazingly, UniKL and Nur Insafi are standing respectively at the fourth and fifth places in the points chart. After playing six games each, both have had seven points to their credit while the former is sitting behind over the goal difference. Both squads
will require one more triumph to go out for the knock-out stage. However, they will get direct spots if Armed Forces Airod and UiTM lose their games in the upcoming fixtures.
Interestingly, the two teams failed to score any goal in the first thirty-two minutes of play despite exchanging plenty of strikes. At last the extensive efforts of Nur Insafi paid off in the form of a goal in the 33rd minute of the match. Damandeep
Singh managed to drive the ball at the top of the circle and slammed a powerful shot into the goal. But the lead did not last long, as the opponent UniKL succeeded to draw in the last minute of the first period. Mohamed Izad Hakimi, the player from UniKL,
converted a short corner to make it one-all.
The second period started with similar speed and both teams continued to struggle searching for a go-ahead goal. With six minutes into the second period, Prem Kumar scored another goal to put Nur Insafi ahead on the scoreboard. In a matter of two minutes,
Mohamed Ramadan Rosli carried out an amazing goal and tied the game.
In the 45th minute of the mark, Nur Hriskesa scored a goal for Nur Insafi through a penalty conversion. In the very next minute, Mohamed Noor Faeez got the results level at 3-3. The same score continued to the end as the match concluded in a 3-all
draw.
In another game, Yayasan Negeri Sembilan (YNS) edged out Maybank 2-1 which was their second victory in the ongoing league. In the earlier part, the YNS side had taken down Nur Insafi with similar scores.
A couple of unanswered goals in the first period gave an enormous edge to YNS to earn the victory for the second time. In the second minute of the match, Shabaz Ali scored the first goal of the game while M. Ragesweran doubled the tally in the sixth minute
and made the game more interesting. From the other side, the only goal was scored by Hairul Nizam Rani in the 60th minute but to no avail as YNS won the match 2-1.
