Nurpur favourite for Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Median Auction Fillies Maiden
A total of nine fillies have gathered for entertaining the horseracing fans worldwide, as they will battle for their first ever victory in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Median Auction Fillies Maiden at Galway in Ireland on Monday, September
10, 2012. All of them have been trained really well, thus they will be giving a tough time to each other at the end of the day.
Speed will be crucial in the 7 furlong race, which is scheduled to start at 17:05 GMT. The quickest filly will be awarded a cash prize of €11,385 and the conditions will definitely play a vital part in determining the winner.
Although, the weather at Galway has been quite unpredictable recently, yet things look a lot better today. The going has been described as yielding to soft by the organisers and most of the runners will be pleased with this situation.
However, Cocktail Hour would have liked some rain before the start of action, as that would have given her a solid chance of shining today. She is a talented performer, but has not yet proved her skills on a dry track.
The D. K. Weld’s trainee has appeared in just two races and both of them were affected by heavy rain. The conditions suited her, thus she finished as a runner up in one whereas had to settle for third in the other.
Things will be difficult for the young filly today, but she has the speed to take the top spot in the end.
On the other hand, Nurpur will be in a better position compared to the rest of the fillies. She has got an impressive record and conditions will not matter much to her, as she has performed well in different situations.
The Kevin Prendergast’s trainee has appeared in five races and there was only one occasion, where she failed to make it to the top three. This shows that she is a competitive runner and does not allow her opponents to walk away with a comfortable win.
The two-year-old filly has come close to winning races in the past, as she finished as a runner up twice whereas secured the third spot on the same number of times. She has a chance of breaking the shackles under Chris Hayes at Galway.
