  1. Sweet Brunette is So Blond.

Nothing would EVER be accomplished without nurses!!

If you want lots of anatomy and physiology, become a doctor.

If you want decent time for patient interaction, if you like lateral thinking, if you like knowing lots about lots of things, AND if you want lots of anatomy and physiology, then become a nurse.

You can become a nurse specialist later, or a NP or a nurse manager or a nurse educator or whatever you like after you get your nursing degree.

    Good luck.

  2. Im sorry sweet brunette but doctors would be no where without nurses

in regards to your question however, you need to ask yourself wht motivates you. are you doing it for financial reasons or because your awesome =D   sorry about the biasness but im currently studying nursing and nurses win hands down =D

  3. Sweet Brunette is an idiot.

Nurses are the true workforce of the hospital.  Nearly all measures of hospital quality have to do with nursing care, not physician services.  Look up "Magnet status" to see what Im talking about.

Nurse Practitioner isnt a job you go to school and graduate with.  You become a nurse first and then go on for other degrees.

  4. Doctor because financiallly and the knowledge about individual and medically help.

Nurse Practitioner can only write up the prescription that the doctor told her what to do.  The nurse practitioner only has to have a bachelor.  A nurse practitioner doesn't go to medical school.

  5. I agree that SweetBrunette doesn't have an idea as to what she is talking about.

As a doctor myself, I know that nurses have an incredible amount of responsibility. Our tasks differ, we prescribe, they get and administer.

It isn't about becoming a doctor for money. A doctors job is hard- not biased at all.

However, a nurses job is just as difficult in the nursing jobs sense. Our jobs are completely different and we have our own things to do.

Just because a doctor goes to medical school, it does not make them above the nurses.

When I started in this field, nurses knew much more and even today, they are a great help.

There is no massive status issue!

Doctor or Nurse, your job is regarded highly in my perspective and so whatever you choose, be proud.

Technically, doctors work longer hours, have more paper work and have a load on their shoulders. Whereas nurses, work slightly less hours, have paper work and have a load on their shoulders.

Never put a doctor above a nurse, without them most would never be competent.

All the best with your choice.
