  1. Every country has a council to evaluate the credentials, I assume Australia must have one as well; should be Nursing Council of Australia. You may contact them in order to evaluate your degree. I am from India and I don't think we have shortages of qualified Nurses, but you may check with the National Council of Nurses, India.

    Best of luck.

  3. Nurses are currently in high demand in Australia and for this reason, if you are a nurse, you might be able to get your visa processed quite quickly. There are excellent nursing jobs and career opportunities available, whether you want to immigrate to Australia, or just stay for a few years.

    Required qualifications: In Australia, to work as a nurse you need to be in good health and have a certain level of education and experience. To determine whether you can work in Australia as a nurse, you will need to be assessed by either the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) or the nurse regulatory body in the State or Territory in which you wish to work.

    If you would like to work in a hospital or other health care area, you will also need to pass a health examination which includes a chest x-ray.

    Also, nurses seeking to determine their eligibility to apply for registration as a nurse in Australia may apply for an assessment of their qualifications provided they have:

    completed a pre-registration or pre-enrolment course of training;

    been registered or enrolled as a nurse in the country where education was undertaken;

    current registration, a practising certificate or license in the country where they are currently practising;

    demonstrated proficiency in the English language; and,

    practised in the branch of nursing for which they are seeking registration within the previous five years. The address is:
