  1. A nurse makes much more than a social worker & has better working conditions.  Science is kind of important in nursing, but don't give up on it yet.

  2. This site should help you out and save you some time, pure medical jobs, www.puremedicaljobs.com

  3. Okay, most social workers are going to get paid enough to support themselves.  If you would be the only income earner in a growing family, then yes, there would be issues, but it all depends on your lifestyle.  It's true, nurses make more, but I would not say that they have a better working environment--In both careers it depends on what area you choose to work in.

The good news is, both careers are in demand!  If you're not that into science I would urge you to go into social work because nursing takes a great deal of anatomy and physiology, biology, etc.

My best advice, once you have a college selected (or a couple), look at their curriculum for both nursing and social work, from there I think you would really have a general idea of which would be best.

  4. My friend has a Masters Degree in Social Work and made $9.00 an hour.

Meanwhile I was making $9.00 an hour as a tutor, and I don't know if I even needed a degree for that (I do have one by the way).

Nurses have more choice of work environment and better pay.
