Nursery Rhyme/ Folk song?

Hi, When I was young, mid-1980's we used to sing a song at Nursery which I would love to find. All I remember was that we would join hands and skip round a tree and sing a song about an old man and apples falling on his wifes grave (apples fall where she lays). Only faint memories, sounds a bit morbid but I'm sure it wasn't! Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Emma UK

  1. I found a book that might have something similar, only it is an old man who is buried?  Try pages 46, 47 and 48 of this book preview:
