  1. Most of the play schools make learning fun, and that is how children learn a lot of things, while playing.

  2. Nursery Education should generally aid the transition from Pre-School through to school.  To do this the Nursery should be using an appropriate curriculum (i.e. for the UK the Early Years Foundation Stage from 2008) to ensure children are learning in 6 key areas; Communication, Language and Literacy/Mathematical Development/Physical Development/Creative Development/Knowledge and Understanding of the World/Personal, Social and Emotional Development.

Ideally children should have many opportunities throughout the day for 'free play' - where children will choose what they want to do from a range of activities (those which change on a daily basis and those which feature regularly in planning).  These activities will have been planned taking into account specific Learning Outcomes taken from the EYFS, along with formative assessment (looking at the children's needs and interests and planning based on this), and adults in the setting will use their knowledge to further each child's learning in the area that their interest lies.  (So, for example, if a child enjoys playing with cars regularly, join the child and suggest an experiment, introduce ramps and test which car goes fastest/furthest, count how many cars are in the experiment, look at the colours of the cars, invite other children to join:  this could be a focus for 5-10 minutes, and in this time the child's learning could be linked to CLL, MD, CD, KUW, PSED areas of the EYFS).

Discipline should be based on discussion; encouraging children to talk about what has happened and what can be done to resolve issues develops Personal, Social and Emotional skills, which are essential for young learners.

In terms of the classroom environment, resources should be clearly labelled (photos are always good) so that children can see what resources are available to them and make informed choices, and specific activities set up in the classroom ensure learning can be linked to Focus Areas and/or areas covered in the EYFS.  Classrooms should have areas with lots of stimulus (photo's, key words, phonemes etc etc) to promote questioning, create awe and wonder, inspire children, (e.g. mirrors, magnifying glasses, magnets/phoneme cards and key words on walls near the book corner), along with areas that have less stimulus, create a feeling of calm but still enable learning (e.g. a quiet area to take reading books, mark making activities, games).

Learning should take place both indoors and outdoors, adult led sessions should be fast and fun, and the range of activities should be wide.  This is just my opinion of course!

  3. Colors and shapes on the wall can help them learn them quicker. Something that catches their eye and makes them wonder. Even tack on the wall different textures for them to feel. That would help with sensory.

  4. I  think  all children should go it helped my lad  to read and tell the time by the time he went to school at 5 he knew quite a bit.

  5. i dont talk about many things. the first and foremost thing he/she will learn is discipline. not joking. it has been proved in USA in a study.
