I work in oncology. I love the type of patient we have. They are so thankful for everything you do for them. Acuity level is high though one patient can have a trach, peg, chest tube and confused. I feel like I get to see everything. I just hate the death. But luckily with today's technology/treatments it doesn't happen so often. I work with a great group of nurses too.

  1. I'm not a nurse...but a nurses aid. I love it most days because I get to help people I know who really need it. But after working in the same place since I was 16..now almost 21. Its just time for a change. I'm going to start school for pharmacy tech. And I hope to work at my job now til at least feb.

  2. I work in the surgical intensive care unit and I love it. My hospital is a level 1 trauma center, so I see everything. Many patients are at times,  too unstable to go to the OR, so a lot of times surgical procedures are done right at the bedside. It is amazing because you see all of the organs  and you can just put everything together in terms of how the body works. I also like to see technology at work and seeing a patient with 20-30 IV pumps, on the edge of death, one day walk back up to you and say tthank you. I also work with a great group of nurses. We are like family.
