I'm about to enter nursing school, and I was just wondering if any nurses out there had any advice or anything for doing well in school. Any study tips? What should I expect? Anything you wish you had done differently during your education?

Thanks!!

  1. my mom is a nurse, she says (not so much for school but for after) learn to eat fast, and says to warn you that you will never be able to spell properly due to the fact that you have to abbreviate everything.

  2. Bring a tape recorder to class so you can tape the teacher's lectures instead of writing verbatim what she says  and missing a lot of impt

    items.

Read all the suggested readiings and materials.  Correlate nursing theory to practical applications.  Ask questions of the teacher if you don't understand.  Pay attention. Familiarize yourself   with the various terminology.  as it's impt to read the doctor's orders.  Concentrate on subjects that you might be weak in such as Drugs.

And Anatomy and Pathophysiology.  Understanding the anatomy and normal function of that system will make it easier for you to  comprehend the diseases and malfunctions contributing to  th particular  diseases.
