Nurses and Tax Breaks?

My freind has been an R.N. for 15 years and is now working as a travelling hospice nurse; She was wondering if she can get any tax breaks. Other nurses she works with are reimbursed for their mileage, but her husband insists that they cannot get anything back. I have printed out a few things for her from the internet, but I was hoping someone would have additional info...

  1. The first trip of the day and the last trip of the day are non-deductible commuting miles.  Any mileage between those is deductible as an unreimbursed employee business expense.  See Form 2106 and Schedule A on the IRS website and their respective instructions.
