Nurses and doctors please?

I went for a blood draw and when the nurse called me in the room everything was already set up including the butterfly needle out of the package but it still had a plastic sleathe covering the end where the needle was. There was no visible blood on or in the needle. She proceeded to draw and then I started to think maybe it was reused and got scared. Do you think it was ok that everything was pre set up. There was someone in the room about 5 minutes prior to me. thanks

  1. Used needles are not allow to reuse. They should disposed the used needles to the special bin (Medical Sharp Waste Bin).

Have you seen the special bin that used to collect needles? If YES, you no need to worry too much.

Nurses should prepare the required equipment (pre-set up) for their patient to come in the room. It is to save the patient time.

  2. They do not reuse needles...
