Question:

Nursing vs elementary teacher vs both?

I have shadowed doctors and nurses in the ER for kids and have enjoyed it and am looking into a carrer as a nurse so I can treat the patients instead of just evaluating them as a doctor. Then I have had a dream of being a elementary teacher because I love kids since I was little. I also want to have a family and don't want my job to take me away from potential kids.

  1. i've studied with both nurses and teachers and i can tell you nursing would be more time consuming - though teaching isn't far off in terms of time commitment - with lesson plans, etc - but nursing is more demanding, that much i can tell you, and alot more indepth with study.

  2. Well as a elementary teacher is very rewarding but doesn't buy you a house and help you take care of your own kids

www.payscale.com  will help you at least with the pay part

as a nurse I can go to any city and state at anytime and get a good paying job and sometimes with a sign on bonus sometimes as high a thousands depends on where and how short staffed they are and since the baby boomers are stating to retire the job prospects are high and will remain that way for many years

you could work in a physician's office if the 9-5 mon-friday is your thing,  If you don't have be with kids you could work in a surgery center with the same work schedule

don't get me wrong my father was a teacher high school and was the

coach, and heavens only knows how he supported a wife and 5 kids

    that was along time ago

maybe private schools pay more , so go to www.payscale.com

and put in the info for teacher and for the employer put in private school

    good luck
