Nvidia driver issue with vista I think

Question

A couple days ago my driver started to fail but then recovered each time.  My screen would go black and then go back to normal in a few seconds.  Last night after my computer went to sleep mode this morning I can't even get into window without hooking up an external monitor and even then only to Safe mode.  The blue screen of death tells me nvlddmkm.sys Address 8B880E060 base at 8B808000. Datestamp 47317db2

I think it's a driver issue but I've tried updating it in safe mode and no luck so I tried rolling it back no luck.  Please help if you can, I need the computer for my wedding coming up next week, it's got all the music on it!  I managed to back up all my data files last night (had a bad feeling) but I'm not sure how to restore the comp (or if that would work) without losing all my programs.
