Wade Redden great denfesman

Dan Fritsche gives them depth

  1. to me it doesnt really matter who is out there it just depends on if they can communicate out on thew ice well and that they must now have a strong defense. One problem i noticed from last season is that they never really got into the goal crease that much during the playoffs and thats what got them.

  2. alright this is coming straight: EVERYONE YOU LISTED IS OVERRATED. redden played awful the last two years. id rather have signed mark streit for 2 mil less and spend that to keep sean avery. and it looks they got a lot of depth and underacheivers too. you want a grade? does a D work?

  3. The Rangers' off-season is bad because it always is.  Their chances to win the Stanley Cup are roughly the same as those of Madonna to win an Oscar.  At least she has better hair than Jagr.

Of course, now that Sean Avery -- arguably the Broadway Bozos' best player -- has sashayed on to Dallas, there go my "2 Girls No Cup" jokes.

  4. The offseason is still not over! But the offense has defineatly improved!

  5. I love how when Redden was in Ottawa, he was known as an under-achiever around the league...now he is in New York, and he is a "great defenceman" again...6 years at $6.5 million, huh?  Do you guys ever wonder why Ottawa offered him $3.5 million a year last month?

To answer your question, none of those names impresses me much...even Naslund is on the downside of his career...I'll grade those moves a D+ (the plus is for re-signing Rosival)

  6. I'd say we've done well...I just wish we were bringing back Jagr or bringing in Hossa or Sundin!

I really like our chances to at least win the Atlantic. Our defense is top 5 in the NHL.

We gotta make Drury captain now, I say. Drury was a leader last season and he was vice-captain in Buffalo. Lets make him full time captain. I bet he's better than Jagr.

  7. Alright, ill go in order

Naslund- old, still skillful, but not as talented as jagr, nowhere near a replacement

Zherdev- talent but a guy who is a negative presance in the locker room

Wade Redden- NOt worth 6.5 mil, can be good, can be terrible

fritsche is the only guy that adds something, he is griity and talented and young, good pick up

Kalinin- not that good, is injured half the time

rissmiller- is a decent 4th liner at most

Voros- a tough guy, but they already have ORR

Drury is not a goal scorer, he is an all around player that puts up good numbers, not great, not to mention he has nowhere near the talent he had in buffalo

    Gomez is good

Brandon dubinski played with Jagr last season, not hard to put up numbers with him, and like i said Naslund is no replacement for Jagr

Dawes is good, can play well with Gomez

The rangers lost Acery, who the rags fans were boasting their record with him in the lineup and with him not in the lineup

Jagr was their leading scorer, probably gone

Shanahan was too me, their real captain and is probably gone as well

    I give them a C+
