Ny times and the washinton post- secret government programs?

both the new york times and the washington post printed stories about secret government programs. why do some people see the papers' actions as patriotic while others think the pulishers should be tried under the Espionage Act?

it is called freedom of the press. it is right given to them by our forefathers. the problem is people do not think for themselves and are relient upon the journalist opinion. beleieve half of what you see and none of what you hear.
