should i get one? is it loud? how much is it?

No, it is completely useless, especially if you have a 40GB model, the ps3 has no overheating problems and its cooling system is just fine on its own

Its not that it won't work it just that the ps3 is already efficiently cooled, the 40GB is even more so, it has a more efficient processor so it runs VERY cool even without it, the 80GB is the same as the 40GB except for the hard drive

Nah, every ps3 20gb, 40gb, 60gb, 80gb are all capable of running on their own without any help.. the ps3 has been tested in hot degrees and has always worked as long as it has room to breath your ps3 will be fine if you have a 40gb you deffinetly dont need one as it is the most cool one with a 45nm processor so it runs cooler.

The one that they made for the Xbox360 atually made the xbox break, cuz it took too much power from the console causing it too not have enuff power. Even if it does get hot it will warn you(in the manual) it will start flashing red and green and if you dont turn it off and it gets hotter it will automaticly turn off to prevent overheating. but that is very rare and theres like a 0.1 failure rate with them:) so the answer is no you dont need a cooler. just take care of it and it will be perfect:D

Don't get it. those coolers can damage your PS3, because they mess up internal cooling system. There were reports on that from PS3 users. Just make sure your PS3 is in horizontal position and it has 10cm gap around it.

Yes, it will most likely work with the 80GB, but don't do it!  I bought one because I noticed my PS3 heating up quite a bit, and it didn't do anything but make so much noise I threw it away.  Save your money for 'Force Unleashed' or Madden 09.
