If you burn yourself badly enough on other parts of your body, you could loose all sensation on those parts.

My question is: Do your taste buds loose sensation if

a) they are constantly burned (lets say once every 3 days for 3 years)

b) burned VERY badly

?

  1. yes u will loose taste

  2. i don't think u actually could in ur mouth, it heals the fastest. but if u could definetly not a

  3. depends

  4. no you wouldn't loose sensation because your mouth is always filled with saliva and it makes them heal faster. Plus the tastebuds go all the way down in your tounge and they would eventually regrow.

  5. I don,t believe so.The mouth heals very fast.

  6. yes it is possible to lose your sense of taste.. do you plan on burning your tongue 3 days a week for 3 years...?

  7. they could but its not likely. most likely you will inflate/irritate them. they will become white and puffy and hurt like crazy! haha. interesting question. and if you ever burn your tounge, drink milk or soak a papertowel in milk and putit on your burn/tounge burn. hope i helped =]

  8. Yes your taste buds loose their ability to taste when they are burned because you have damaged those cells.

However, the good news is that in most situations, your tongue is able to regenerate those cells to replace damaged ones and have you tasting again.

You know how you burn your tongue and then the next few bits of food, you can't fully taste in that part of your tongue but than after a day or two, you get that tasting ability back? Cells regenerate luckily or I would be one miserable eater right about this point in my life!

  9. IF you burn you tongue badly enough it will only last 5 weeks or so but they do come back, they grow back from the earlier one

  10. sure

  11. why would you want to? Ouchie! I hate biting my tongue, lest to say burn it! But your body heals, you'll get scar tissue, and it may lessen how much you feel pain in other parts of the body, but you'll still feel some sensation or another. I wouldn't recommend burning your tongue, FOOD IS AWESOME! Think of all your fav foods you wouldn't be able to enjoy!

  12. Depends on how fast the cells in your tongue multiply.

  13. no the cells in your mouth and on your tounge regenerate

  14. Yeah, they do... you should be feelin that right about now. Fortunately the mouth reals very rapidly so unless the burn is very severe it will heal completely.

Gotta watch out for the hot foods!
