I am thinking about buying a base for my newborn-to-be's car seat, and would like to know what everyone else chose to buy - no base (is an option), surefix or isofix?

  1. I have a snug ride by graco with the base. The car seat and the base stay in the car, I take my baby in the stroller to the store or in the carrier (those are so useful). But now my baby (4 mo) is getting bigger and it is hard for me to carry him, I just stick with the stroller, or just pop the car seat out.

I am planning on getting the Britax convertible car sear later on in a month or so.

  2. I just bought a convertable, the carseat stayed in my car. and the older my baby got i just took the inserts out. the only thing about it is i had to carry my baby everywhere, but some people think thats a CON but i think it was a PRO, i loved my baby on me. But if you dont know what to get, buy the carseat WITH the base just make sure you can use it without the base, so you can keep the base in your car and its 10 TIMES easier to just pop it in and out and then when you have to go somewhere you dont have to worry about switching the base over, you can just use it without it 2. Hope this helps.

  3. We bought the Mama's and Papa's "Aria" travel system, which includes a push chair and a 0+ Isofix car seat.

I highly recommend the system, as the pushchair is light and the car seat clicks in and out of the car and pushchari very easily. Also, once your child grows out of the car sear, they can still use the push chair on its own until +/- 3 years old.

We got our whole system from Argos for £179 - bargain!

  4. Maxi-cosi cabriofix with iso-fix base because the seat also attaches to my pram

I don't always find it so easy to get the seat off of the base though.
