Question:

OBD Plug on a 1996 Camry!! Help!!!?

I have a 1996 Camry and i have an OBD 1&2 device to see why your check engine light is on. However i cant find the plug to fit my devise in, i know on newere cars its near the steering wheel, but i cant find it there. Could it be under the hood?

  1. It should be under the steering wheel under the dash. You may have to take off a dust cover to see the socket. If all else fails get the Haynes book on your model, its the best money you'll ever spend.Good luck


  2. i think its in the trunk by the spare tire on that year.

    edit. by law it is not required they be on the drivers side. go scan a thunderbird.

  3. The OBD plug is usually under the dash, to the right of the wheel. If not there, check a repair book. Under the law, all plugs must be in the area  of the driver's position.

  4. It is under your steering wheel on the very bottom of the dashboard.
