  1. I shouldnt worry about it, it could just be down to her age, as life must be slowing up for her, and she forgets that she has just stopped, to wash herself, equally, she could have brushed, or layed in something that has made her uncomfortable. Just like when your hair is out of place, you must go and brush it as it irrates if left.

If she is pulling out clumps of fur then it is a different kettle of fish, then take her the the Vets, and have her checked out.

  2. has anything changed in the house, new people around?  some people not there anymore or very much that she is use to having around?  new environment?  over grooming is a sign of stress.  you should get the cat to the vet for a check up to make sure it is nothing medical.

  3. I think it very well may be a form of cat OCD!  Cats who obsessively groom themselves are exhibiting signs of stress.  Are the other cats stressing her?  Is she having territorial issues as well?

  4. First, yes, cats can have OCD.  My Maine Coon rubbed herself bald when she was younger, after medicating her - she changed one obsession (excessive rubbing and cleaning) to another one - eating.  The vet said it's just a neurological issue, and we learned to live with using behavior modification.  Call your vet and have her checked for skin rashes, parasites or any other of  hundreds of diagnosis.  Don't try to diagnose it yourself please.  Good Luck

  5. We have an elderlt cat and he has started to groom all the time. This morning we inspected his fur only to discover to our surprise and horror that he has aquired  lodgers. We are some what surprised because he is regularly treated with frontline. Could it be that the fleas in our area have developed an imunity to frontline or that we got a duff batch?

  6. she may have a sticky or uncomptable substance on her fur that is irritating her you should take her to the vets x

  7. my dog has OCD ever since he was a puppy bc he was taken away from his mom to early. he is the same age as your cat and the ocd has gotten worse with age. he licks his paws and legs over and over until they get sore. i would talk to your vet if you would like to know more about it! :D hope i helped
