1. BID difference. Oceanography is a study of currents, tides, salinity, and temperature differentials. Climatology generally refers to atmosheric phenomena, and yes, temperature. Weather is atmosheric only. OK?

  2. I often say that climatology is the "history" of weather. While meteorology and oceanography are two different subjects, they share a good number of similarities.

Many of the laws that govern movement in the atmosphere also apply to the currents within the oceans as well. The biggest difference in the equations is the fact that the fluid of the atmosphere (air) is compressible while sea water is incompressible. But, in both cases the laws of physics apply and many of the terms that apply to ocean currents also apply to atmospheric currents.

What is interesting is that a good number of meteorologists are trained in oceanography as well. The navy cross trains all of their meteorologists and aerographer's mates in oceanography due sound propagation needed for submarine warfare.

Yes, I was an aerographer's mate many years ago and although my main degree is in meteorology, I have a fairly good understanding of oceanography.
