ODI skipper Misbah warns Pakistan team against complacency – Cricket News Update
Pakistan’s one-day skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972, on Wednesday warned his players against complacency after winning the tour-opening T20 International against India in Bangalore, saying the Men in Blue would come back strongly in the remaining games of the itinerary.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 and men by five wickets in the first T20 International at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, on Tuesday to start the tour on a triumphant note and take an unassailable 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
Misbah, who is not part of the T20 squad currently playing in the two-match series in India, said that it was good start by Pakistan, and hoped for the players to take the winning momentum into the remaining matches of the limited-overs series.
"It is a great start by our team but we need to be cautious and not get over-confident because there are still four matches left in the series and the Indian team will try to come back hard at us in these games," said Misbah during a short media interaction before leaving for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 on Wednesday.
"Our team is always dangerous when it is on a winning streak and even before the series the players were very keen to do well in India as we are playing a bilateral series after five years," he added further.
Misbah, along with six other players – who are not part of the T20 team against the archrivals – arrived in India late on Wednesday to skipper the Men in Green in the ODI leg of the itinerary, commencing in Chennai on Sunday, December 30. Commenting on Pakistan’s performance in the Bangalore T20, the 38-year-old middle-order batsman said that pace bowlers had bowled very well which was a good sign for them going into the ODI series.
"Even before the series we were banking on our pacers to put pressure on the Indian batsmen and they succeeded in doing this in the first T20. I hope they continue in the same spirit and rhythm for the one-day series as well," he said.
The second T20 International between India and Pakistan will be played in Ahmedabad tomorrow, December 28, 2012, and will be followed by three One Day Internationals in Chennai (December 30), Kolkata (January 3) and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 (January 6).
