OEM Xbox hard drive?

Ok, so here is the thing. I got this OEM Xbox hardrive from someone as a gift (you know, the ones you put on the side like a regular one) and I am wondering what is the benefits/downsides of having it. I say OEM because I am not quite sure what it is, but you usually see that type sold on eBay or imported from China.

no, MS cant ban you for using a imported hdd on your 360.  You didnt violate anything.  dont worry your safe and sound :)
