OH LORD!!!!! Have I been getting Ripped off from Craigslist?

Question

I bought this Iphone 3g for $250 from craigslist the seller told me that he's in Romania on vacation so I have to do a money transfer from Western Union which I did, after that the seller told me that the Iphone will be sent in 24hours. Now feeling a bit uneasy with the seller I did a little research on craigslist, now I'm finding out a lot of fraud in craigslist uses Western Union for their scam. Now tell me did I just get ripped off or am I just getting paranoid. If I do get ripped off how do I get my money back?

There is an old expression..."if it is too good to be true...."  

It is so important NOT to disclose personal or private information online, let alone wire cash to an unknown international scammer!!!  

This was probably a cheap lessen to learn.  

And do NOT ever cash checks from anyone online or through email!!  (Another popular scam... the checks are forgeries.)

You have no recourse. That's why they have you use Western Union. Can't get your money back.

That is the biggest scam going on with Craig's List.  Unless you can cancel it, you're SOL.  Oh well, consider it an expensive lesson.  Still alot of people out there getting their jollies.  Too bad people can't just be honest all the time.

Is there any way to cancel the money transfer?

If not just give it a little bit of time.. maybe the phone will show up.

You can't do anything for sure until you know that the phone isn't coming.  But yes, there is a lot of fraud involving money transfers on any internet site, like craigslist and such.
