I saw a commercial for a TV documentary on the history HD channel tomorrow at 8PM est. The preview started off, "The question of life after death has been asked many times. In Steven Gurgrich's documentary he proves that the spirit world, paranormal happenings, and life after death does exist. Watch his shocking discovery Saturday at 8PM only on history hd". I can't wait to watch it! Who is gonna watch it?

  1. I have a paranormal investigation to conduct tomorrow night so I won't be able to see it.  I'm assuming 'tomorrow' is saturday night?  right?

  2. the history channle tends to go off the wall in terms of credability when they deal with UFO's and ghosts.

im betting he is going to pawn off "quantum physics" as proof of ghosts, which is asinine.

NOTICE how everytime i say something skeptical i get rated down for it. god forbid someone not sugar coat everything to conform to your beliefs

and i would highly doubt that the "proof" is acceptable or even valid, relly if it was, it would have already been published in peer reviewed journals. not to say that it can't be proven, but if you do it in the real scientific way(using peer reviewed publication) you would easily be up for a nobel prize.

  3. I won't be watching it.  I doubt I would if I had a television set, which I don't.

If Gurgrich manages to prove anything it will eventually get around to the body of information I read and value.  If he doesn't, I'll have spared myself the time wasted if I'd owned a television.

Proof tends to be in the eyes of the beholder.

  4. I'll be out so I can't see it.If he does prove it, I'll hear it all over the news on Sunday. It will be the main headline for days to come.

  5. Sadly, we don't have that channel here. :(

  6. Somehow I doubt that the History channel has found someone who proved that all that stuff existed without there being some sort of press release or journal paper on it.  Which makes me think that they're probably just making stuff up - kinda like they keep doing with the whole 2012 thing (which is also complete bullshit).  I have to say, the History channel went downhill really fast.

EDIT:  evirus - welcome to the club.  I've been blocked by a number of people on here for doing the same thing - including Jack, who I happen to agree with this time.  Which is too bad, because he's been asking what look like interesting questions, but I can't see the long version.

  7. Well, I have heard these claims before for TV shows, and they never prove anything.

And trust me when I say he will not be able to scientifically prove anything such as this.

  8. His "proof" will be enough for some and too little for some others. Hope it doesn't have to be HD tv...I do get the History Channel..but don't have HD!! Guess we'll have to get it soon..or lose cable!

  9. Thanks for the heads up on the television show. I will watch it, however the trouble I have with these shows is the music and the background sound effects that interfere with actually getting the sounds of what is happening.  I find this most annoying and interfering with what is going on in the film. All of these new shows are onto something, but unfortunately they have to answer to the commercialism of television, and of course the sponsers. Hard for us serious folks to enjoy it as such.

  10. I'll probably watch it, but there is NO way to prove something like that.. it'll probably end with something like "we'll just never know"

Theres no way hes going to proove it...

  11. thanks for the info!
