I don't want to spend the money and find out that it doesn't make that big of a difference. :)

  1. We have very hard water, and a water softener makes all the difference in the world.  Our water has a lot of iron in it, and many things turn a rust color, like the tub mat and the floor in the shower stall.  It also has quite a bit of minerals in it, and makes a build up around the drain in the bathroom sinks.  I use CLR (calcium, lime, rust) cleaner or Lime-A-Way.

  2. buy a filter always help

  3. That depends on how hard your water is. If you have really hard water then a softener would make a big difference.

  4. Get a shower water filter. They are about $20 at home depot or lowes.
