...I've written down (in BIG numbers) a 4-digit number, on a piece of paper, face up. Just remotely view what it is, and post the number here.

  4. Your question is silly.

It should read: "If you believe you can accomplish remote viewing...?" Because otherwise, it's like saying, "If you believe in atoms... why don't you show me one?"

Just because you either believe or know something is real, doesn't mean you personally can accomplish or see it. I don't own any sort of technology capable of showing you an actual atom. But that doesn't make it any less real.

I am not telling you that remote viewing is necessarily real (since that would be pointless; even if I did, what difference would it make for YOU, but I am saying that this stupid little question is the most woefully unequipped device for disproving anything.

Thank you, zachary9351. You made another really good point.

  5. this is ridiculous

  7. 4321

  8. 2691 :)

  9. No psychic is going to answer your question. These fine people won't play your game. They have nothing to prove.Psychics are the most unselfish and kind among us.Not once have they used their super-powers to win a lottery.Or be first at a particularly good yard sale. They've warned us of impending disasters.Unfortunately, we never listen until it's too late.Let's give them the respect they deserve, please.

  10. think up a better experiment-4 your4 digits 4trying to prove

    it 4yourself

  11. Some friends have taken courses in remote viewing.  From what they've explained to me the instructor provides them with much more detail than what you've given.  For example, on the 12th floor of the Empire State building, apt 621, in the bathroom, are some numbers on the mirror.

As there could be any number of papers with 4 digit numbers written on them strewn around this planet, how would anyone begin to know which one belongs to you?

I've witnessed enough situations involving remote viewing to remove doubt as to its realism.  I hope you're able to receive the proof for which you ask.  :-)

  12. i believe in remote viewing but am not a remote viewer.  apparently most governments of the world do too, including the usa.  they hire remote viewers for various functions.  i will take a stab at it though, 2007.

  13. Was this number written down in front of at least 2 independent observers not otherwise involved in your experiment? Was this paper given to an independent judge that was previously agreed to by all participants which also signed waivers releasing you from damage? Did you fully disclose all risks of participating in this human experiment?

On a serious note how can you prove what the number was to verify that people got it right or that no one guessed it?

This seems like another typical example of a skeptic conducting bad science and then claiming that an experiment can't be replicated.

Although, doing actual research (even poorly) is more than most skeptics attempt so congratualtions for reaching higher.

May I suggest that you take a look at ANY remote viewing experiment and then attempt to replicate it to the best of your ability.

I am sure that online protocols could be established and I would applaud the effort at actual research. Let me know if I can assist you in this effort.

  14. I'm sensing 9999. Unless I'm remote-viewing upside down, in which case my answer is 6666.   :)

PS. If remote-viewing wasn't pure folklore, Randi would have lost his $1 Million already.

  15. i'll guess...5241

  16. Lighten up, psiexploration, you're taking things much too seriously. Skeptics don't do research? Skeptics are about the only ones who actually do research. They're called scientists :)  Besides, you should know that the burden of proof (or evidence, as the case may be) falls not on the skeptics but on the ones making the wild claims.

I'm guessing the number is 1111. I didn't use remote viewing to guess it though.

  17. I love the way the psiphiles (my word) dance their jigs and make their eloquent excuses and complaints whenever this kind of thing happens.  Well what would you expect from a whole class of people who just can't be bothered with Randi's million dollar reward?

Zachary, I was beginning to worry about your answer but then I looked at your list of links under "about me."  Okay, nice skepticasm (also my word).  So you get a thumbs up from me, but you know, I'll bet some people will read your answer and believe it and like it.  Hope they aren't too upset when they see that it is a mockery.

Oh, and no guess from me.  If I got it wrong, that is what would be expected.  If I got it right, that's why we have the word "coincidence."  Anyway, good start to paranormal challenges.  E-mail me if you would like to hear about a couple that I have done on the Internet.
