OK, my brothers wife is very nice, but she chews with her mouth open.

Question

She says the air helps the food disolve and then she can swallow easier. I don't buy it, since I know where she comes from and what kind of upbringing she has had. Also, she picks her toenails at the table when she is done eating and some of us are not done. I am not going there for dinner anymore. Do you agree with me?

Well, I would wonder first if she was doing it to get at anyone, and to get them to stay away.  

I mean, does she do this at restaurants?

I would go out to eat with her once and see how she behaves in public.

Otherwise, yeah, it wouldn't be too appetizing to eat during all of that, so I would stay away.

I disagree and agree. first you should try to talk to them and find out whats the real deal and talk to your brothers or family cause they can help you out. first I agree cause thats completely rude, I would get grounded for 8 months if I even about to clip my toenail at the table. Maybe you should know the wives a little bit.

Omg dude, My biggest pet peeve is someone chewing loud/with their mouth open. I think it is disgusting, annoying, and repulsive. That is also extremely gross that she picks her toenails at the table.

I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to go back there. How can you even eat a dinner with her chewing so loud and picking at her feet? gross!

I would refuse to sit at the same table with her. She sounds like to total pig to me. Don't buy it. She has no manners, like where did she come from the woods? Tell you Brother to tell her to pick her toe nails outside, and out of view. Better yet gang up on her one day, when your all sitting around the table and start chewing your food loud, and with your mouths open. Your Brother is the only one who can stop this nonsense.....

Just go to visit, you are not obligated to eat there. If you want to keep the relationship with your brother you'll have to ignore the wife's behaviors and be polite, but no you don't have to eat dinner with her. I have a family member that eats with her mouth open, for completely different reasons, and so I always sit on the same side of the table as she does, so I don't have to watch her eat, although over the years I have gotten immune to it. As for picking the toenails, I guess you better visit in the winter when it is too cold for her to take off her shoes. Invite her over for Thanksgiving dinner like the pilgrims had, an outside picnic.

Talk to your brother and maybe when you come over for dinner, or whatever meal. She can hold in the fact that she has to chew with her mouth open and pick her toenails. Yuck!

If a person has a bad cold and can't breath through their nose, then they must breath through their mouth when they eat.  Other than that, it is just nasty to eat with their food slopping around in their mouth. Nasty!

Picking toes at the dinner table is Nasty!

I would talk to my brother and tell him it makes you sick, and you refuse to sit there and get sick from her actions.
